Actress Doreen Keogh, who played the first Coronation Street barmaid, has died aged 91.
Keogh attracted Rovers Returns’ first jugs as Concepta Riley, starring in the soap in the 1960 s and 70 s.
The Irish star likewise had reappearing characters in Cold Feet, Father Ted and the Royle Family.
ITV Studios’ inventive head John Whiston said Keogh maintains a “unique place” in Coronation Street history.
“There have been many barmaids in the Rovers over the years, dispensing beers and ability in equal evaluate, ” he said.
